Institutions and Parole Program Options
As a general rule, most inmates will have the chance to appear before the Board on a yearly basis. Depending on their eligibility date for parole, they may be paroled to a variety of settings to assist a smoother transition into society and reduce their chance of recidivism. Additionally, an inmate can choose to parole to another state, in which case he/she would have to apply for out-of-state parole via the Interstate Compact Program.
Common institutions and programs that the inmates can parole to are:
- Adult Community Corrections Facility (ACC) – Casper, Cheyenne, Gillette
- Intensive Supervision Program (ISP)
- Intensive Treatment Unit (ITU)- WSP and WWC facilities
- Parolee Residential Treatment Program (PRTP)
